Evelyn Lagu Son given Bursary..
------------------------------With the untimely demise of singer and actress Evelyn Nakabira aka Evelyn Love or Evelyn Lagu, several Ugandans have come out to express sympathy as they eulogize the fallen singer.
Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga in his eulogy revealed that the University has offered Lagu’s son Freddie Kasava a full scholarship to complete his studies at the University.
“I have been seeing the news of the death of Evelyn Lagu and it’s a pity that we have lost her. In this world, we are visitors. The Creator who brought us, time will reach when He takes away from it and the Almighty will judge us for our earthly doings,” Dr Muganga said of Lagu’s death.
“If it’s true that Freddie is no longer able to access studies where he was, he can come and we give him a hand at Victoria University,” he added.
Muganga was responding to news surrounding Lagu’s son who said in an interview on Bukedde TV that he had to quit school because his mother needed care and she could not raise money for him to study.
Lagu’s worsening condition definitely meant that Kasava would have trouble continuing with school due to financial challenges, and therefore he decided to let go of the school in Favour of his mother, but unfortunately, she eventually lost the battle.
Lagu was laid to rest on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her ancestral home in Kalungu, Greater Masaka subregion. May Her Soul Rest in Peace.
