Nandala Mafabi to stand in 2026 Presidential Race

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General, Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi has declared his intentions to contest for President of Uganda come 2026.

The Budadiri West Constituency member of Parliament in the 11th Parliament, stated, “I will contest for the Presidency of Uganda in 2026, and this is why Besigye has been employing various tactics to impede my efforts.”

Mafabi alleges that during his bid for Party President against Rtd. Gen. Mugisha Muntu, Besigye failed to provide the support he had promised.

Mafabi said that he believes himself to be a formidable presidential candidate compared to Besigye, who has run for the presidency four times.

“I am not like him (Besigye), who lacks support. I have strong support within my constituency, providing me with a solid foundation to launch my campaign,” Mafabi said.

He added; “Starting from my constituency, I will campaign in the northern, western, and central regions. I am a viable presidential contender.”
